....Fine Equestrian Breeches...

Equi Tailor & Togz grew out of a friendship that happened when my beautiful Morgan gelding, Polo (affectionately known as “Polo, the Wonder Horse”) became lame. With a diagnosis of higher ringbone, I went in search of alternative therapies and started on a round of magnetic therapy and herbal remedies. The practitioner that I met, an avid horsewoman, had 25 years experience with horses in various capacities.
One of her passions, of course, was riding - and in order to ride comfortably and freely, she nattered on constantly about her riding breeches. She mentioned things like the “stickiness” of a deerskin seat and leg, the importance of 4-way stretch in the material, and perhaps her biggest accolade was the fact that the leather was on the outside of the fabric so that the leather was never next to the inside of the skin, where it could chafe. The name of the breech was - Equissentials.
As we chatted one day, we hatched the idea of actually selling breeches at “barn parties”. Our business plan quickly took shape, and along the way, we realized that we wanted to have another “type” of breech in our “stable” of products - one that could hold its’ own with the more costly, traditional type of breech. After some market research, we settled on - Tropical Rider.
On July 2, 2003, Equi Tailor & Togz, was born. Our goal was to provide a range of fine, affordable, endurable and comfortable breeches. And CUSTOMER SERVICE would set us apart from retailers. We would go to barns and sell directly, set up a booth at horse shows and industry functions, and be available to go to clients’ homes (or they to ours!) for individual fittings
In June 2005, my partner had an opportunity to pursue another venture and I purchased her share in the fledgling business.
I pride myself on maintaining quality relationships with my clients and suppliers. I will always put you, my valued client, at the centre of this small business - your complete satisfaction is my goal.
Happy trails,
